Cricket is a bat-and-ball sport where two teams compete to score runs while trying to get the opposing team out. It is played on a large oval field with a pitch in the centre.

🏁 The Basics of Cricket

Cricket is played with:

• 11 players per team

• a bat and ball

• two sets of stumps (wickets)

One team bats to score runs, while the other team bowls and fields.

🔄 How the Game Works

• the game starts with a bowler delivering the ball to a batter

• the batter tries to hit the ball and score runs

• fielders attempt to stop runs and get batters out

• teams switch roles after innings

🏏 Batting

• batters hit the ball to score runs

• runs are scored by running between wickets

• boundaries score automatic runs

Types of runs:

• running between wickets = 1 or more runs

• ball reaches boundary = 4 runs

• ball clears boundary = 6 runs

🎯 Bowling

• bowlers deliver the ball towards the stumps

• aim to get the batter out

• must bowl with a straight arm

🧍 Fielding

• fielders stop the ball and prevent runs

• catch the ball to get batters out

• return the ball to hit the stumps
