Netball uses simple but important equipment that allows the game to be played safely and effectively. The right gear helps improve performance, movement and comfort.
🏐 Netball
The netball is the main piece of equipment used in the game.
• round ball similar to a basketball
• slightly smaller and lighter
• designed for easy passing and grip
Goal Post and Ring
The goal is where players score.
• ring mounted on a post
• no backboard
• height: 3.05 metres (10 feet)
Located at each end of the court.
👟 Footwear
Netball shoes are designed for quick movement and stability.
• strong grip for indoor courts
• support for jumping and landing
• helps reduce injury risk
Clothing and Bibs
Players wear:
• lightweight sports clothing
• position bibs showing roles (GS, GA, WA, C, WD, GD, GK)
Bibs help identify each player’s position on the court.
📏 Court
A netball court is required for play.
• marked with thirds and shooting circles
• used to control movement and positioning
