A netball court has standard dimensions and markings used in both recreational and professional play. The court is rectangular and divided into thirds, with a goal at each end.


📐 Court Dimensions

The official netball court size is:

• length: 30.5 metres

• width: 15.25 metres

The court is split into three equal sections called thirds.


Goal Post Height

• height: 3.05 metres (10 feet)

• no backboard behind the ring

The goal ring is attached to a post at each end of the court.


📍 Court Layout

The netball court includes several important markings:

• centre circle (for starting play)

• two goal circles (shooting areas)

• third lines dividing the court

These markings control where players can move.


🎯 Shooting Circle

• semi-circle at each end

• only Goal Shooter (GS) and Goal Attack (GA) can shoot

• players must be inside this area to score


🔄 Court Thirds

The court is divided into:

• defensive third

• centre third

• attacking third

Each position is restricted to specific thirds.
