Basketball scoring is simple and fast-paced. Teams score points by shooting the ball through the opponent’s hoop.

🧮 Types of Scoring

There are three main ways to score in basketball:

• 2 points – shot made inside the three-point line

• 3 points – shot made outside the three-point line

• 1 point – free throw

🏀 Field Goals

A field goal is any shot made during normal play.

• inside the arc = 2 points

• beyond the arc = 3 points

Players aim to create open shots to increase their chances of scoring.

🎯 Free Throws

Free throws are awarded after certain fouls.

• taken from the free throw line

• worth 1 point each

• no defenders allowed to block the shot

🔄 How Points Add Up

Points are added continuously throughout the game.

Example scoring:

• layup = 2 points

The team with the most points at the end wins.
