Basketball court size can vary slightly depending on the level of play.

FIBA (international):

• length: 28 metres

• width: 15 metres

NBA:

• length: 28.65 metres

• width: 15.24 metres


🏀 Hoop Height

• hoop height: 3.05 metres (10 feet)

• measured from the floor to the rim

This height is standard across almost all levels of basketball.


📍 Court Layout

The basketball court includes several important markings:

• centre circle (for tip-off)

• three-point line

• key (paint area)

• free throw line

• baseline and sidelines

These lines define scoring areas and player positioning.


🎯 Key Area (Paint)

• rectangular area under the hoop

• used for free throws and positioning

• players cannot stay too long in this area (3-second rule)


🔢 Three-Point Line

Shots made from beyond this line are worth 3 points.

• FIBA: 6.75 metres from the hoop

• NBA: 7.24 metres (top of arc)
