🔢 Squash Scoring

Squash uses a rally scoring system, meaning a point is awarded on every rally regardless of who served. The goal is to win points consistently and reach the target score before your opponent.

🧮 How Points Are Scored

A player scores a point when their opponent:

• fails to return the ball

• hits the ball out of bounds

• hits the tin (bottom of the front wall)

• allows the ball to bounce twice

• commits interference or a fault

• Every rally results in a point.

🎯 Game Format

• games are played to 11 points

• a player must win by at least 2 points

Examples:

• 11–8 = win

• 12–10 = win

⚖️ Deuce Rule

If the score reaches 10–10, this is called deuce.

• play continues until one player leads by 2 points

Examples:

• 12–10 = win

• 15–13 = win

🔁 Serving and Scoring

• if you win a rally, you score a point

• you also become the server

• the server alternates service boxes after each point

🏆 Match Format

Matches are usually:

• best of 5 games

The first player to win 3 games wins the match.

⚡ Why Scoring Matters

• consistency

• endurance
