Darts uses standard measurements to ensure fair and consistent gameplay. The height of the board and the throwing distance are the most important dimensions.

📐 Dartboard Size

• diameter: 45.1 centimetres

• divided into 20 numbered sections

• includes double and triple scoring rings

The size of the board is the same for both casual and professional play.

🎯 Bullseye Height

The dartboard is mounted so that the centre (bullseye) is:

1.73 metres from the floor

This is measured from the ground to the centre of the bullseye.

📏 Throwing Distance (Oche)

The distance from the dartboard to the throwing line (called the oche) is:

2.37 metres from the front of the board

Players must stand behind this line when throwing.

📐 Diagonal Distance

For accuracy, a diagonal measurement is often used:

• approximately 2.93 metres from bullseye to the oche

This helps ensure the setup is correct.

⚖️ Why Dimensions Matter

Standard dimensions ensure:

• fair competition

• consistent gameplay

• accurate scoring

Using the correct setup allows players to practise and compete under the same conditions used in professional darts.
