Lacrosse scoring is simple and fast-paced. Teams score by shooting the ball into the opponent’s goal using their stick.

🧮 How Goals Are Scored

A goal is scored when:

• the ball completely crosses the goal line

• it enters the net between the posts

• no rule violations occur during the play

Each goal is worth 1 point.

🎯 Types of Goals

Goals can be scored in different ways:

• open play (normal passing and shooting)

• fast breaks (quick attacking plays)

• set plays (organised attacking moves)

All goals count the same.

⚠️ Disallowed Goals

A goal will not count if:

• a player enters the crease illegally

• a foul occurs before the shot

• the ball does not fully cross the line

🔄 Scoring System

• 1 goal = 1 point

• no extra points for distance

• the team with the most goals wins

Example:

• Team A: 12 goals

• Team B: 10 goals

• Result: Team A wins 12–10

⏱️ Match Structure

• games are played in quarters

• teams score throughout the match

• total goals determine the winner

🏆 Tie Situations

If the score is tied:

• the game may go to overtime

• first team to score may win (sudden death)

⚡ Why Scoring Matters

• teamwork and passing

• shooting accuracy

• quick decision-making
