A tennis court has standard dimensions used in both recreational and professional play. The court is rectangular and divided into two halves by a net.


📐 Court Dimensions

The official tennis court size is:

• length: 23.77 metres

• width (singles): 8.23 metres

• width (doubles): 10.97 metres

The court is longer than it is wide, and doubles uses a wider playing area than singles.


🎾 Net Height

The net runs across the centre of the court.

• height at centre: 0.914 metres

• height at posts: 1.07 metres

The net is slightly lower in the middle than at the sides.


📍 Court Layout

The tennis court includes several important markings:

• baseline (back boundary)

• sidelines (different for singles and doubles)

• service boxes

• centre service line

• centre mark on baseline

These lines define where serves must land and whether shots are in or out.
