🔢 Darts Scoring

Darts scoring is based on where your dart lands on the board. Each section of the dartboard has a different value, and players aim to score points strategically to win the game.
🎯 Dartboard Scoring Zones
The dartboard is divided into numbered sections from 1 to 20.
Each area scores differently:
• single = the number hit
• double (outer ring) = 2x the number
• triple (inner ring) = 3x the number
• outer bull = 25 points
• bullseye = 50 points
🧮 Example Scores
• hitting 20 = 20 points
• hitting double 20 = 40 points
• hitting triple 20 = 60 points
The triple 20 is the highest scoring single throw.
🔢 How 501 Scoring Works
The most common game is 501.
• players start with 501 points
• subtract score each turn
• aim to reach exactly zero
🏆 Finishing the Game
To win in 501:
the final dart must land in a double
Example:
• 32 remaining → hit double 16 to win
⚠️ Bust Rule
A bust happens when:
• you score more than needed to reach zero
• you reach zero without finishing on a double
If this happens:
• your score resets to what it was before the turn
🔁 Turn Scoring
• players throw 3 darts per turn
• total score for the turn is added together
• score is then subtracted from remaining total
🎯 Strategy in Scoring
Good players aim for:
• triple 20 for maximum points
• setting up an easy double finish
• controlled scoring instead of random throws
