Ultimate Frisbee Field Size
An Ultimate Frisbee field is a rectangular playing area with end zones at both ends. The field is similar in size to a football field but slightly narrower.
The full field measures 100 metres long, including end zones, and 37 metres wide.

📏 Field Dimensions
The standard Ultimate Frisbee field dimensions are:
• Total length: 100 metres
• Playing field (without end zones): 64 metres
• End zones: 18 metres deep each
• Width: 37 metres
These dimensions are used in official and competitive matches.
🏟️ Field Layout
The field is divided into three main sections:
• Central playing area
• Two end zones (one at each end)
Teams score points by catching the disc inside the opponent’s end zone.
📍 Boundary Lines
Ultimate Frisbee fields use simple boundary markings:
• Sidelines run along the length of the field
• End lines mark the back of each end zone
If the disc lands outside these lines, it is considered out of bounds.
⚡ Flexible Field Setup
Ultimate Frisbee can also be played in non-official settings using smaller or adjusted field sizes.
Many casual games are played:
• in parks
• on school fields
• on beaches
In these situations, cones are often used to mark boundaries instead of permanent lines.
Why Field Size Matters
The size of the field creates a balance between speed, endurance and strategy.
A larger field allows for:
• long throws
• fast running plays
• strategic positioning
This makes Ultimate Frisbee both physically demanding and exciting to play.
